Advisor: Mr. Nicolò Doglioni, Geologist Project Description:
The «Palinuro Arch» is a limestone arch located close to the Palinuro village.
Considering its structural caracteristics and its high environmental value, we proposed special techniques of intervention allowing to consolidate the structure without bad aesthetic effects. The securing operations saw the use of stainless steel bars, hexagonal mesh networks, cable mesh panels, anchors and resins. To the structural consolidation has followed a restoration phase consisting in the fixation of all the rocky flakes that couldn’have been removed and the final placement of linear resistive transducers to keep the structure monitored
Planning the intervention needed to secure the area from rocks falling from the arch and to ensure the safety situation of the Palinuro bay
